L'encodage d'un texte ordinaire est décrit dans le chapitre sur les polices. Certaines données invisibles peuvent aussi être incorporées en tant que feuilles des arbres TeXmacs. C'est le cas des mesures des cadres et des espaces, des données auxiliaires, etc...
